Instructions for Applying Board Wax

When to Apply Board Wax

1. Regular Maintenance: Apply board wax monthly or whenever the board looks dry or starts absorbing water. Regular maintenance prevents the board from drying out and cracking.

 How to Apply Board Wax

 Materials Needed:
- Board wax (This usually come with your product)
- Clean, lint-free cloth or paper towels
- Mild dish soap and warm water (for cleaning)

 Steps:

1. Clean the Board:
- Wash the cutting board with mild dish soap and warm water.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a clean cloth.
- Allow the board to air dry fully before applying wax.

2. Apply Board Wax:
- Scoop a small amount of board wax onto the cutting board.
- Use a cloth or your fingers to rub the wax into the wood in a circular motion, ensuring even coverage.
- Pay special attention to any end grains and edges, as these areas are more prone to drying out.

4. Allow to Set:
- Let the board sit for 1-2 hours or overnight to allow the wax to penetrate the wood fibers.

5. Remove Excess Wax:
- Use a plastic scraper or an old credit card to gently scrape off any excess wax.
- Buff the board with a clean, dry cloth to achieve a smooth finish.

Tips for Maintaining Your Cutting Board:
- Regular Use: Maintain your cutting board by wiping it down with a damp cloth after each use. Avoid soaking it in water.
- Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals on your cutting board, as they can damage the wood.
- Store Properly: Store your cutting board in a dry, well-ventilated area to prevent mold and mildew growth.

By following these instructions, you can ensure your cutting board remains in excellent condition, providing a durable and sanitary surface for food preparation.
